As of Sunday, June 7th over $6,500 has been raised so far...
... via the Bay To Barkers online registration, pledges, donations and Lead Dog contest. That's a great start, but there is a long way to go-- this is the key annual fundraising event for The Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society.

Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society is looking for the 2009 Lead Dog!
Enter the contest to make your dog a star! The winner of the Lead Dog Contest will be announced on the morning of Friday, July 31 on 95.7 The Wolf. He/she will be crowned onstage at Bay to Barkers on August 2 and lead off the walk.
The winning dog will also receive the following publicity for one year:
- Lead Dog for the 2009 Bay to Barkers Dog Walk
- Photos posted on the BEBHS website
- Photo on all 2010 Bay to Barkers promotional materials
- Photo on the cover of a BEBHS newsletter
- Image on the 2010 Bay to Barkers T-shirt

Welcome to the Bay to Barkers Dog Walk & Festival 2009 blog!
For the 12th Annual Bay to Barkers Dog Walk & Festival we have a blog! This is a fundraiser benefitting the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society.
Join us for Doggy Olympiad games, a 1-Mile Dog Walk, "Do You Look Like Your Dog?" and other contests, spa time for canines and people, art and craft activities for kids and dogs, and the Pet Festival with booths hosted by community groups and pet supply companies.
This year's event will take place on Sunday, August 2nd from 8:30 AM to 1 PM
at a NEW LOCATION: Golden Gate Fields, Albany in the North Parking Lot. It is conveniently located just off the I-80 freeway -- heading East (North) you exit at Buchanan St.; heading West (South) take the exit toward Albany.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
At least 20 volunteers will be needed to set-up for the event, Sunday, August 2nd from 6:30 to 8:30 AM. Please contact Volunteer Coordinator Cindy Shelby at volunteer@berkeleyhumane.org or 510-845-7735 ext. 13
